Cell Line STR Profiling Analysis
Reported by Hannah Cole | July 23rd, 2024 @ 08:24 AM
Short tandem repeat (STR) analysis is a standard test for validating cell lines. The analysis of highly variable STRs provides a simple, inexpensive, and specific genetic "fingerprint" of cell lines. Cell line STR analysis confirms cell identity by analyzing DNA microsatellite regions with the variable numbers of repeats and located in the entire genome. The important thing is that STR analysis is the test required by most journals. At present, STR markers for human cell lines have formed a relatively complete genotype profile of cell lines, but the standardization method for STR purification of non-human cells needs to be further improved. Our STR analysis service is mainly carried out for human cell lines, and also accepts STR analysis of cell lines of experimental animals such as mice and rats.
